Giving Tuesday 2018
Feature: Giving Tuesday 2018 - Campaign#GivingTuesday is a global giving movement that has been built by individuals, families, organizations, businesses and communities in countries around the world. Millions of people have come together to support and champion the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live. For HERO USA, this year's campaign celebrates getting outside, raising awareness for winter sports, and fundraising to get even more kids involved in our winter program. Every donation affords each child participant from our community based youth group partners; including Boys and Girls Club of Columbus, Big Brothers | Big Sisters of the Central Ohio and The Gladden Community House, the opportunity to experience outdoor recreational activities they would not normally have access to and build confidence, all while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. Dural Mayes from The Gladden Community House: HERO USA Winter ProgramHERO USA is dedicated to helping kids create a lifelong passion for winter sports. There are many reasons why skiing and snowboarding are typically out of reach for a lot of the disadvantaged community – from lack of proper clothing and protection from the cold to just knowing someone who is motivated and familiar with these sports in general. We eliminate these obstacles and open a world of possibility to outdoor activity during the winter months. Snowsports Education Program: Special Events and Competitions: Youth Organizations:HERO USA strives to fulfill our charitable purpose by partnering with other youth based organizations including schools, churches, government agencies and clubs. We offer special pricing and packages that are designed to help meet the tight budget constraints of any non profit. Each organization will have the ability to choose up to 2 (two) dates for a private class setting on the mountain. (*minimum class size must be met) Volunteer:(no experience necessary) Volunteer your time to help children learn to ski and snowboard safely & pass on your knowledge and passion for the sport or just help keep track of everyone and be “a parent” to all of us on the slopes. Spend a few hours helping our kids and then the rest of the day is yours to enjoy the slopes with a lift ticket and rental equipment compliments of HERO USA. Register for a class:There are weeks when we have open spots in our classes that were not filled by our partner organizations. These spots are based on availability and are fee based. You may also set up a private course with your family, friends or company based on the availability of HERO staff. These private outings are also fee based. If you or your organization is not a partner, please contact us directly for pricing and availability info@herousa.org Donate:HERO USA is a 100% volunteer based organization.
